When we don’t receive the love we need as children, we can suffer from persistent self-esteem issues in adulthood. If we were raised by narcissistic or immature parents, being honest with ourselves about this truth is necessary before we can move on to wholeness. Only by acknowledging and feeling the sadness can we begin to fill the void created by this lack. Remembering that people love to the extent they’re capable, will help us forgive the past.
