Getting conscious means paying attention to the nature of our ‘idle’ thoughts. Habitually thinking about what annoys us, needs improvement or our regrets causes us to repeatedly experience what we don’t like. We complain about things that don’t meet our standards, not unaware of the consequences. Those complaints accumulate in our subconscious minds and gradually create a feeling of overall malaise. Luckily, it’s just as easy to forge a habit of appreciating the things we like. The difference between the two approaches is simple: one makes you feel bad; the other makes you…

Feel good.
