It’s easy to forget that our experience of life happens mostly in our minds. It’s not the people and situations out there that determine how we feel, it’s what goes on in our heads. When something unwanted happens, it only happens once, but we can make ourselves miserable for an extended period of time as we spend hours or even days worrying about terrible outcomes.
