Stuff can make your life easier, more comfortable…even more glamorous. It can differentiate you from other people; make you feel superior or inferior. Stuff is touted by marketers as the key to happiness. Stuff that can satisfy all kinds of needs. But, no matter what kind of stuff you have, it’s still inert, static and dead. It doesn’t adapt. It doesn’t learn. It doesn’t relate. It doesn’t love. Stuff doesn’t push back, give you grist or make you grow up.
Stuff isn’t where it’s at.

Very gently put! I believe it is really far worse than that, but this little paragraph is very nicely suggestive without pushing any ideas about what we do to ourselves in our search for comfort. We need to be self-aware and at the same time positive, hoping that those two adjectives can simultaneously apply to the same thing, without intervention by something like the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle!
