The idea that you could meaningfully compare the intrinsic worth of one person with that of another simply by considering a few factors, is preposterous. Even though some people may not ever achieve conventionally defined success, you can’t possibly know how significant their role is in the ultimate scheme of things. Just like the extreme interdependence in an ecosystem, if you take one little, itty-bitty insect out of the mix, the whole thing could come crumbling down. Since you can’t actually comprehend the true purpose others serve, assume it’s a vital one…
And act accordingly.
