We’re hardwired to monitor our surroundings for danger. Since we’re rarely under threat of real physical harm, this instinctual tendency to protect ourselves often results in unnecessary judgment, superfluous suspicion and needless negativity. The solution is to be aware of our surroundings without creating a story about the intentions, motivations or worth of others. After all, it’s impossible to know the intricate details of others’ backstories. The only healthy approach is to be vigilantly discerning while refraining from negatively judging others, because, from their own level of consciousness, everyone is doing…
The best they can.
