Your thoughts create the emotional environment in which your life takes place. Judging creates an unsettled atmosphere because you can’t help but suspect that others are judging you as well. Competitiveness puts you in a stressful frame of mind as you frenetically try to win the game. Loving and kind thoughts place you in a sea of comfortable well-being. If you want to modulate the way the world feels to you, remember that it’s all about how you direct your thinking. Calm the critic, accentuate the positive and…
Enjoy your thoughts.

I sense another level in the self-pain caused by judging. It may be as simple as realizing others may be judging us, but I think there is something more basic at play when we judge. I feel that when we try to make a judgement, we seek to cut the object into known quantities, to make an analytical dissection so that things fit into pigeonholes, almost as if we expected to attribute causes to one aspect or another. I think that cutting, that vivesection, hurts the feelings of that inner part that knows the unity of the Universe.
I may be trying to hard too understand myself. The astounded little child in us knows the unity of life and would shy away.
