People pleasing arises out of a basic feeling of unworthiness. It’s the result of a belief that who we are isn’t enough. In order to avoid feeling this way, we try to orchestrate a positive reflection from the outside by trying to make others happy. This never really works because the world mirrors back how we feel about ourselves. If we don’t appreciate ourselves, we won’t truly believe that anyone else does. Worthiness isn’t about accomplishments, appearance, productivity, possessions or anything else out there. It’s a state of mind that we have to tune into..

Inside ourselves.
