We can create the country we want by focusing on how good we feel living here. Experiments have proven that focusing on what’s right raises the quality of everything. Acknowledging what needs fixing while spending most of our energy on what’s right, makes what’s right even better and helps right what’s wrong. Blame, shame, guilt and fear don’t raise the quality of anyone’s life. What we focus on expands. What we feed with our thoughts, we energize. What we think, we become. Let’s discipline our minds so we become…
What we want!
Jarl and Steve
In my efforts to discipline my mind to become what I want to be, I have to slightly rearrange the first sentence. While I am working on maintaining my positive energy vortex I also feel a powerful urge to participate in a democracy. That doesn’t interest everyone, but it interests me, and I entirely intend to keep that work positive. Being aware of how much human suffering is caused by our disease of rampant acquisition and greed, it serves me better to shift the reference of “here” from “my country” to “my planet”. Our new democracy has to be international anyway, since globalization has made the suffering international. I have immense gratitude for being alive on this miraculous planet, but without engaging in any blame of anyone, I feel, as Gandhi did, that it will take consistent confidence and work to remove the boot from our throats. People are coming to understand that we are the people we have been waiting for, and we indeed will become the people we want.
Thank you Larry. Good points! Regarding blame, we can recognize what needs changing without spending time and energy assigning blame (which wastes time) and get on with visualizing what we want and taking action to improve and move forward. Others will be more inclined to get onboard with a new plan if we don’t demonize them and instead understand that they’re doing their best considering their conditioning and need to be shown a more loving way. Hugs!
