When life seems difficult and you just want to hide under the covers, remember that it’s the sand that makes the pearl. Although challenges are scary at first, they turn out to be blessings when you rise to meet them. The rewards are even sweeter when you transform your fears into determination and your resistance into a willingness to deal. The alternative, however, isn’t very pretty: playing it safe and eventually boring yourself to death. Next time you’re dreading something difficult or new, don’t. Open the door and let it in.
