In the course of evolution, humans developed the ability to perceive danger and threat in order to survive. This tendency to exercise caution is now in our DNA. Unfortunately, it favors looking for what’s wrong rather than appreciating what’s right. In modern civilized society, this tendency may actually do more harm than good. Negativity and fear cause stress, compromise our immune system and skew our perception of the world. The remedy is simple, but requires effort in order for it to become the new norm.
