The more tightly we hold on to our beliefs about the way things should be, the more trapped we are in a prison of our own making. Stubbornly sticking to beliefs makes us primitive and tribal, because we view the world as “us versus them”. This takes us further away from the underlying truth of ultimate reality, which is total unity.
