We aren’t always who we think we are. Most of us unconsciously bury some feelings because they seem uncomfortable or messy to deal with. But, repressing our feelings doesn’t make them go away. They sit inside us festering, causing dis-ease, pain and occasionally surprising behavior. Exploring those lingering emotions that comprise our shadow isn’t as scary as we might think. The feelings won’t kill us. In fact, facing them head-on heals us. This exercise of sheltering-in-place offers us a unique opportunity to explore (and write about) how we truly feel about everything.
