Imagine being in a restaurant and noticing that two parties who came in after you were served first. You might feel slighted because you weren’t attended to in the order that you arrived. Would you stew over the matter and create a bigger emotional response, swallow your feelings, voice your objection and risk offending the server and creating an worse experience, walk out while letting the server know that you’re insulted or do you recognize that you’re having an ego reaction, realize she was just doing her job and decide to simply…
Enjoy your lunch?
I really like your posts but I think I would nicely question why they were served first . especially if it was a long wait. especially if it was 2 parties. Am I wrong to feel that way ?
Thank you for your comment! 🙂 You are not at all wrong to feel that way! It’s another option that we didn’t include and a good one. It happened to us and we thought of asking her why and then thought it might make her defensive and we decided to just let it be and consider that how it happened was just right for some reason we couldn’t see. We did tell her that we were in somewhat of a hurry and asked if it would be long before our food came out and she said, “No, not long at all.” As it turned out we received our food long before the others did and it was delicious! So all was well and we were glad we did what we did. 🙂
