Sometimes it’s difficult to muster the inner fortitude to cope with difficult circumstances. It’s daunting when we can’t conceive of answers, solutions or logical step-by-step remedies to an unwanted situation. Feeling like we can’t control our own destiny often produces anxiety. A common response is to make lists, rally our strength and forcefully take action. But, there’s an alternative approach to dealing with overwhelm in such difficult times. It involves allowing ourselves to sink completely into the feeling of hopelessness and consciously choosing to love ourselves no matter what happens. After that, we can takeĀ  whatever comes next…
