Life can present us with difficult situations that make it seem like telling the truth will rock the boat or cause suffering. While dishonesty may delay discomfort, it creates deeper problems. Our lies are indeed unfair to others, but they actually hurt us most. They communicate to our subconscious mind that the truth isn’t good enough. This duplicity lowers our self-esteem and damages our ability to trust because we see through lenses colored by our own behavior and subconsciously assume others behave the same. The antidote isn’t always easy, but leads to healthier living and better relationships…
Telling the truth.
