Just like a coin, everything has two sides. We can only know something by knowing its opposite. We identify what we like by identifying what we don’t. When challenges, disagreements and difficulties arise, the recognition that both sides must exist can help bring us back to balance, even love. The ‘other side’ is crucial in order for us to recognize what we need to do to grow and evolve as we wish. This interdependence demonstrates that in spite of being on diametrically opposing sides of an issue, we are…
Inescapably connected.

I am going to share this with my brother who is a big Trump supporter. We have ceased speaking to one another due to political differences. There is no room for discussion if a persons intention is to convert the other.
Hi Sandra,
There are so many other ways to connect to people, we certainly don’t need to share the same point of view or politics in order to treat them with respect and even love them. In fact, when we stretch ourselves to love those who are least like us, it feels really good. Arguing and disagreeing so intensely that we go into our respective corners is not the way to peace — either inner or outer.
Love,
Steve and Jarl
