Because we’re born into particular familial, cultural and philosophical contexts, it’s understandable that we have preferences. We favor certain foods, climates, people and behavior. These are relative standards, not truths. They indicate nothing other than what we’re comfortable with. In terms of the mind boggling number of planets, stars, galaxies and universes, our limited perspectives mean very little. So much of existence is beyond our understanding and control that we could drive ourselves to misery unless we develop a vitally important skill…
