There is so much information coming in from the outside world that our brain has to take short cuts to assimilate it all. Due to confirmation bias, we tend to look for and favor information that we already believe is true and find evidence that justifies our perspective. When we’re unconscious of this fact, we inhabit a narrow and fearful perspective that we often defend as if it’s who we are. Becoming aware of this bias helps us to expand our viewpoint, ease our fear and understand a deeper truth: Our beliefs
