When we don’t ‘show up’ as we’d hoped, it can be embarrassing. It’s natural to want to be considered intelligent, funny, charismatic or athletic, etc… It’s normal to feel embarrassed when (we think) we aren’t perceived that way. If we can learn to be okay with occasional ‘sub-optimal’ versions of ourselves, not only will it help us to be more self-loving, we’ll do better the next time because we won’t be so pressured to perform well in order maintain an image. Being at peace with every aspect of ourselves frees us to be…
Who we truly are.

Wow! This gratitude is a great one for those of us brought up as dissatisfied over-achievers. Life is certainly great practice for itself.
