Try this little exercise in owning who you are. Next time you get invited to do something socially that you’d really rather not do, just say, “No thank you.” Do it kindly, but don’t offer explanations or excuses. If you’re asked why you won’t participate, just say, “It doesn’t work for me.” That’s it. You’re entitled to choose your activities.
