We lie when the truth feels uncomfortable. We worry we’ll be judged if others knew the truth. Ironically, lying causes internal dissonance and stress, feels much worse and does more damage to our self-esteem. When lying seems to be the only option, remember it’s not. You can change the behavior you’re ashamed of or start accepting it. The issue that actually needs to be addressed is that you’re missing something really important that would override the impulse to lie about anything…
