Have you ever had someone try to convince you of their point of view? Changing ones own mind is hard enough, changing someone else’s is nearly impossible. Rarely does anyone do an about face and suddenly agree with an alternative perspective. Next time you don’t agree with someone, let them know your opinion, but rather than argue, exit the topic as soon as possible. Trying to prove them wrong or convince them doesn’t feel good to anyone. Acceptance in spite of difference is…
Kindness in action.

Thank you mam..
..I am from Kerala mam.i am not teaching,I am a student just completed my bachelors.
..i just said teaching to say an example i read daily on newspapers.
..sir is half indian.thats great.
..mam do you think if we say i am indian,American ,japnese etc we are constricting our identification from human being to a more limited geographical one.
.or is it a part of growth process where we are expanded from an individual to being part of a wider group.

Sarath
Sarath, I think it’s fine to acknowledge the country and race one is from as long as the identification is not strong. It’s identifying as this and not that, us against them, that creates war. I am spirit/consciousness first, as is everyone, then a human being, then my gender, then my race, then my nationality, then my state, then my city, then my neighborhood community, oh, and the one that causes lots of problems, my religion if I have one. All of those are to be taken lightly except the first: spirit/consciousness. And it’s there we see, we are all one. So I say, let’s just stick with the truth and let all the other aspects of our identities be for fun. Cheers, Jarl
Kerala is beautiful. Congratulations on receiving your bachelors degree. 🙂
Dear mam
Have you ever been to Bharat (india).i am living here.its a beautiful land geographically, culturally and philosophically.you will never see similarity of culture within a span of 50 kilometers.its so variant.they speak different dialects, different language, pray in different way, worship different gods, build churches and temples in the same arena, play different games, their marriage ceremonies are different, the way they eat is different (the aesthetics of consumption),the food they eat is different.
The traditions of this culture predates 15000 years ago as it is said here.but what is holding us as a nation for this long time is this..
Acceptance inspite of difference.
This is true for everyone who stays together.

Sarath
Hi Sarath, Yes, I’ve been to India many times. Steve is half Indian. His mother lives in India (in the Aurobindo Ashram in Puducherry) and we visit every few years. His mother is American (though she lives in India) and his father is Indian from Punjab and lives in America (except for 4 months out of the year, when he also lives in Puducherry.) I love India, it’s amazing. You said you teach, what and where do you teach? Where do you live?
Acceptance in spite of difference(of opinion, race ,caste, creed)is kindness in action..
Awesome
