Like waves rise from the sea, your thoughts surface from a vast ocean of pure consciousness. You aren’t defined by your thoughts anymore than the ocean is by a wave. Just as the ocean experiences the waving of its waters, you can be the witness experiencing the thinking of your mind. When you believe and identify with your thoughts, you live in a limited dreamworld. When you understand that you are the ocean of pure consciousness…
You’re awake.

I think ‘mists’ might be a better image than waves. For one thing water doesn’t wave and mists rising from the sea might be more available than waves which rise up a little, and then immediately recede out of reach. In any event, ‘like’ needs to be followed by a noun, modified or not.
Love, Larry
Hi Larry, We were just taking liberties with our waving water. The impermanence of a wave is a commonly used metaphor for our ‘individual’ experience of life. We arise out of the collective consciousness as a wave comes from the ocean and we return again, never having really been anything but the ocean (collective conscious). Thanks for the grammar correction. Not sure we were aware of that. I’ll take another look at the post and see what you’re talking about. 🙂
Hey Larry, we do use a noun right after like. “Like waves… Is that correct? Or are you referring to something else?
