When something unwanted happens and you feel the urge to resist, remember that you rarely know the purpose of what’s unfolding when it’s happening. If you think of all the seeming misfortunes you’ve endured, you’ll probably note that many of them turned out much better than you anticipated. Some of them were even ‘perfect’. You’ll forego a lot of discomfort and worry if you remind yourself that the ultimate ‘purpose’ will only be revealed in time. There’s no use agonizing over stuff that you can’t be sure is actually bad. That’s the worst kind of torture…
