Except in rare cases, going to war with anything is a fairly ineffective way to create positive transformation. The much publicized and very expensive ‘war on drugs’ provides a cautionary lesson of how not to go about trying to effect change. After spending billions, there are now more addicts and more deaths from overdoses than ever before. Conversely, the end of prohibition resulted in fewer alcohol-related deaths and less consumption. Real change happens when you shift your attention from problems to solutions. Spending time and energy focusing on the dysfunction: what is it good for?
Absolutely nothing.
