When you realize that your viewpoint is inherently limited, the only intelligent response to different perspectives is tolerance. You relax the insistence that only your ideas are worthwhile. You’re more inclined to consider the possibility that the opinions of others might be correct, even when it seems unlikely. You understand that everybody is on their own journey of consciousness, traveling at their own speed and embodying various levels of awareness in different arenas. You have compassion when you think someone else is misguided and for yourself when you’re wrong. Tolerance makes sense.
