Next time you’re in a disagreement, stay present and listen to what the other person is saying. It doesn’t matter what you’re discussing, forcefully insisting that you are right only strengthens the other’s resolve. The more unyielding you are, the less open they’ll be. Hear them out and resist any impulse to interrupt. If you still feel the need to express your opinion, do it with kindness. The energy between you will be softer and you’ll both be more likely to open to the other’s point of view. Transitioning from argument to conversation requires one thing:
