It’s important to be able to distinguish between your version of events and the truth. Recognizing that you’re viewpoint is filtered through your programming keeps you from getting entangled in unnecessary drama. When you remember that your story isn’t one hundred percent fact, you don’t waste energy judging, condemning or feeling bad about others’ interpretation of what happens. You don’t even need to try to figure out where they’re coming from. Unless something really matters, it’s wise to acknowledge that everybody’s narrative is just another story.
