Certain moments in life call for seriousness and focused attention. However, this frame of mind can creep into one’s overall life and unconsciously become the dominant mode of operation. Taking oneself too seriously can be stressful and lead to self-importance. It incites constant competition with others and interferes with making true connections. Playfulness, on the other hand, is a more empowering attitude that frames problems as opportunities and renders life more enjoyable. It allows for joy in even the unlikeliest activities. Everyone is potentially on the same team.

And the game is fun.
